Avenue Primary School has a school uniform for all children from Nursery to Year 6.
- Green sweatshirt or cardigan with school logo
- Black trousers or skirts
- White shirt or polo shirt
- Black school shoes or trainers
- Black or white headscarves
- Green salwar kameez
- In summer, black school shorts, green school summer dresses and black school or sports sandals which can be fastened around the ankle/foot
- All children need to have an Avenue Primary School Book bag for reading books and homework. These can be bought from the school uniform shop.
Please ensure that your child’s name is put into all clothing, especially sweatshirts.
Book bags
All children have the Avenue Book bag which they need so they can take a reading book home.

- When it is colder weather, we recommend children are provided with tracksuit bottoms and long sleeve tops during PE.
Swimming
The children in years 3 and 5 go swimming. They need a swimming costume, swimming hat and a towel. Swimming hats can now be purchased from the school office for £2 each.
Please make sure all items of clothing and PE and swimming kit are clearly marked with the child’s name. We recommend, on the day of the swimming lesson, the children come to school with their swimming costume under their uniform so they can get changed easily when they get to the pool.
Jewellery and Watches
Children may wear a watch and stud earrings, although the school cannot accept responsibility for lost or broken watches. All other jewellery is not permitted unless it is being worn as part of religious observance.
The school has a Hardship Policy for families that may need assistance with purchasing uniform, as well as access to some second hand uniform. To access this please contact the school’s Home to School Support Worker.
