On behalf of all the children, staff and Governors, I am delighted to welcome you to our school website.
We are a large three form entry school that is situated in Manor Park, within the London Borough of Newham. We are proud to be a diverse community made up of a large number of different cultures, traditions, religions and ethnic backgrounds that we recognise and celebrate. We are a happy and caring school where everyone is respected and valued.
We have an ethos which holds the children at its heart. Our shared vision of ‘Expect the best, to be the best’ and our six learning values of cooperation, self-confidence, thoughtfulness, curiosity, motivation and resilience are central to all school life and underpin all the work we do.
We believe that every child can succeed and excel. We have a committed team of staff and governors who strive to nurture each child’s attainment, progress and development to enable this to happen. We value the effort our children put into their learning and we take care to nurture a love of learning where they feel supported to take risks and benefit from their mistakes.
We are passionate about learning. We provide ambitious, relevant, academically challenging experiences that enable children to learn, and think deeply about the world and their place within it. We aim to prepare children to be active citizens in later life and extend and enrich their experiences and appreciation of the world and our locality while they are with us.
We value the vital role that parents and carers play in a child’s education. We are committed to involving them in all aspects of their child’s time at Avenue. We will also be here to provide support and guidance to families when it is needed.
