At Avenue, our curriculum aims to equip pupils with practical skills, a design oriented mindset and an understanding of how technology and design influences the world around them.
Our Design and Technology curriculum requires our children to make products for a specific user and purpose. The curriculum develops children’s skills and knowledge in design, structures, mechanisms, electrical control and a range of materials, including food. We continually seek to inspire children’s creativity and encourage them to think about important issues in the world and communities around them.
Children develop their evaluation skills as well as an awareness of health and safety, using technical knowledge and develop a sense of enjoyment and ability to make a final product.
